Growing up in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, I worked and roamed from the Pike Place Market to the many new restaurants and bars in Belltown, Capital Hill, Fremont, Ballard and the International district. This melting pot of cultures evidenced an amazing respect for the endless array of fresh ingredients sourced from farm and sea. As time passed my growing curiosity to meld history and environment with new technologies led me to creating this site. My goal was to inform how we explore every day both the world and the food and drink that we discover, create and consume.. This passion burns deep and I find great joy in learning and sharing with others.
The road led me to New York City where over 29 years and across a broad swath of the hospitality industry many lasting friendships and wonderful relationships were forged. Much appreciation and thanks go out to the many cooks, chefs, bartenders, hoteliers, restaurant staff and owners that I was fortunate to work with.
Today, the journey continues: to savor and share the moments that result from being able to Eat, Explore and Drink both here and around the world.
One of my greatest pleasures in life has been this ongoing quest to learn, discover and ultimately to share these tidbits of taste, experience and activity.
I hope you will join me.
You might best characterize me by my thirst for knowledge and range of curiosity about all things from the mundane to the extraordinary. Scratch this curiosity and you will also find a tech geek in search of new ways to explore how we work and create.
My love of food and drink combined with an insatiable appetite for knowledge, feeds a keen urge to explore tastes, interpretations and new ideas to better understand the building blocks that bring us together.
One aspect of this passion is a thirst for new ways to concoct, serve and enjoy all types of Drink.
In the end, most folks that know me, observe my boundless curiosity to learn as much as I can each time I visit a new country, city, town or neighborhood.
To Explore, this powers all of my interests.
My goodness, this list could fill the entire site. Suffice to say, there is little that I do not take pleasure in.
Good simple food to the latest in molecular gastronomy. Classic or new recipes, ingredients and methods. All catch my eye.
Quaffable drink, whether a friend's newly bottled microbrew, a interesting expression of single malt Whisky or some recently tasted wine, digestif or the perfect Manhattan. I'll explore them all and return to many.
Travel, new places, cultures and the friendly people and new friendships these bring. The journey itself, not just the destination.
I hope you will join me for this exciting voyage of discovery.

It's been many months of moving from home office desk to lap tray on the couch, to patio table and now I've gravitated to my bed.
This Bamboo Lap tray made it happen. Whether that's a good or bad thing only time will tell. https://amzn.to/3czRv9O
